Naerim Support

Naerim helps you start a coffee journal with just a bean name. Find answers and contact details below.

How do I get started?

On Today, choose Brew Your First Cup and enter a bean name. Add only the dose, water, temperature, and grinder setting you know. Choose Start Brewing to open the brew screen, then tap Start Timer when you are ready. To record coffee you already made, choose Log a brew and save without a timer.

Do I need a recipe?

No. You can use the free timer or simply log a brew. For timed guidance, create a personal recipe in Collection and select it during preparation. Naerim does not automatically import famous recipes or convert one grinder's settings to another.

Do I need to register all my equipment?

A brew needs a bean, but only the bean name is required. Filters, grinders, drippers, and other details are optional. Leave values empty when you do not know them.

Are my records and photos sent to the developer?

The app does not send personal records or photos to a developer-operated server. It stores them on your device and uses your private iCloud database when iCloud is available. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Why is a record missing on my other device?

Check that both devices use the same Apple Account, that iCloud is available in device settings, and that internet access and iCloud storage are available. You can check iCloud account access again in the app's Settings. An available account does not mean that all records have finished syncing; changes can take time to appear. An active or unsaved brew stays on the current device. If the problem continues, keep the existing app and data in place and contact support.

What happens if I lock the screen?

The app recalculates elapsed time when you return. You can enable optional step notifications in Settings after granting system notification permission. Delivery and sound can be affected by silent mode, Focus, and system conditions. A brew is not saved automatically when the final planned step ends. Finish the brew and save its result yourself.

Can I export and restore my data?

Open Settings > Export data, choose CSV or JSON, create the file, and save or send it through the system share sheet. To include bean photos, select JSON and enable photos. This version does not import exported files or restore from them. Manage exported copies separately from the app.

Does deleting a bean or recipe erase previous brews?

When deleting a bean, you choose whether to remove related brew records too. Deleting equipment or a recipe does not automatically delete previous brews, and their original details remain in those records. Archiving is a way to organize your collection and differs from permanent deletion. Review the affected items in the confirmation before deleting.

Does a widget or Shortcut start the timer immediately?

It opens brew preparation. Timing starts only when you tap Start Timer on the brew screen. If an active or unsaved brew already exists, you can return to that brew.

Do I need to pay or create an account?

There is no separate sign-up, subscription, in-app purchase, or advertising. There are no record-count limits or feature paywalls.
